Hohm Casts His Kamand
From C4.44, The Death of Afrasiab and Garsivaz. It illustrates C4.44.3–7:
- C4.44.3He took the island path and, drawing near,Saw Afrasiab’s distant form appear.
- C4.44.4He loosed the ready kamand from his waist,And crouched and came with savage lion’s haste.
- C4.44.5He cast the twisted kamand, deftly spread,And caught the fallen monarch by the head.
- C4.44.6He dragged him from the lake upon the shore; His senses failed; his strength could serve no more.
- C4.44.7The holy man took hold and hauled his preyIn shame from water, bound him where he lay.
