Goosh-bistar Is Brought Before Iskandar
From D5.34, Iskandar Finds the Treasure of Kay Khosrow. It illustrates D5.34.10–15:
- D5.34.10A wild man came, all clothed in matted hair,With elephantine ears spread through the air.
- D5.34.11His skin beneath the hair was indigo,And all the soldiers stared from head to toe.
- D5.34.12The chiefs, amazed, took hold of him to bringHim by sheer force before their mighty king.
- D5.34.13Iskandar watched him with a keen surprise,And called on God at what had met his eyes.
- D5.34.14“What sort of man are you? What is your name? What do you seek at sea? Declare your aim.”
- D5.34.15He said: “My parents named me at my birth:Goosh-bistar is the name I bear on earth.”
