ABOUT THIS SECOND VIEW

Whose act. Whose command. Whose account.

A documented selection

The source is the New Naqqali translation as published on 22 October 2026. Every connection quotes its couplets. Mass deaths in battle, suicide, natural deaths and the killing of supernatural creatures are not included.

Three kinds of responsibility

Red lines identify narrated fatal acts or fatal wounds. Gold lines identify orders, commissions or royal authorization. Purple dashed lines identify an explicit plot or instigation. The direct act can involve helpers; its note describes their part as well.

Names and responsibility stay separate

Rostam son of Zal and Rostam son of Hormizd are separate people. So are Bahram son of Gudarz and Bahram Chubin. A chapter title, prediction or later accusation is not substituted for the narrated action. Unknown individual hands remain unnamed.

Family ties need evidence too

The family filter shows only killings between people whose family tie the poem states. Pairs without a marked tie are not claimed to be unrelated. The groups around the rim are our own arrangement, not a complete genealogy. The graph follows the poem’s account, including its account of Sa’ad and the later Rostam.
