Zal Charges Rostam with Vengeance

From A9.3, Rostam Slays the White Elephant. It illustrates A9.3.37–41:

  • A9.3.37
He called for Rostam; pride he could not hide,And kissed the child he summoned to his side.
  • A9.3.38
“O lion’s cub, your claws have grown so fast;Your childhood strength has ripened, sure and vast.
  • A9.3.39
In farr, in valor, stature, noble frame,No child your age can stand with equal claim.
  • A9.3.40
But act before your rising fame is known;Avenge Nariman’s blood, which none atone.
  • A9.3.41
Go forth to Sepand, where a fortress stands,A towering hold above surrounding lands.
