Giv's Kamand Snares Piran
From B10.24, Giv Captures Piran. It illustrates B10.24.7–14:
- B10.24.7When far from river, army, rank, and line,Giv raised his battle-gorz with bold design.
- B10.24.8He wheeled and charged the chief with gorz in hand,A raging dragon sweeping through the land.
- B10.24.9Before the gorz, lion Piran fled; While Giv pursued him hard his charger sped.
- B10.24.10Unseen, he drew his kamand from its place,And freed its coiling loops in secret chase.
- B10.24.11He whirled the loop and cast the kamand wide,Its tightening curve swept toward the rider’s side.
- B10.24.12His kamand caught Piran’s head in its bend,And tore him from the saddle at the end.
- B10.24.13He cast him down on foot in deep disgrace,And dragged him far away from river’s place.
- B10.24.14He threw him down and bound his hands, and thenHe donned his arms and mounted up again.
