Kavus Curses Garsivaz
From C4.32, Khosrow Sends Spoils and Captives to Kavus. It illustrates C4.32.54–59:
- C4.32.54He ordered all the spoils brought forth, displayed,With famous warriors, strong and proud, arrayed.
- C4.32.55The guiltless women came, their faces veiled,Who in their sheltered chambers had been assailed.
- C4.32.56Bound Jahan came, with Garsivaz bound too,Who brought down Siavash through schemes untrue.
- C4.32.57When Kavus looked on Garsivaz the base,He cursed him justly, to his very face.
- C4.32.58Kavus beheld with eyes that filled with tearsThe daughters of Afrasiab and their fears.
- C4.32.59He made the royal bower their dwelling-place,With handmaids set to serve them in that space.
