Rostam Greets the Returning Shah

From C4.38, Khosrow Returns to His Father’s City. It illustrates C4.38.36–40:

  That noble horseman saw from far awayThe parasol that marked the Shah’s array.

  He left his steed and bowed before the ground;The Shah embraced him, both arms folded round.

  He told of wonders seen upon the main,And sorcerous Afrasiab, sought in vain.

  One week he stayed as Rostam’s honored guest,Then left Machin and Chin in settled rest.
