From C4.46, The Death of Kay Kavus. It illustrates C4.46.11–19:

- C4.46.12Iran’s great nobles made their way on foot;Their finery and scents aside were put.
- C4.46.13For two full weeks they mourned the monarch’s fall,In blue and black, the garments worn by all.
- C4.46.14They built a lofty hall, ten kamands high,A royal tomb that towered toward the sky.
- C4.46.15The nobles brought Dabiqi cloth to spread,With Roman brocade black around the dead.
- C4.46.16The cloth held aloes, musk, and camphor white; They wrapped his body, dry, within it tight.
- C4.46.17They placed him on an ivory throne, and madeA crown of musk and camphor, on him laid.
- C4.46.18When Kay Khosrow had turned and left the room,They sealed the portal of that sleeping tomb.
- C4.46.19No man again looked on Kay Kavus’s face;He rested from revenge and battle’s race.
