Esfandiyar Embraces Goshtasb
From C7.15, Esfandiyar Returns to Goshtasb. It illustrates C7.15.39–45:
- C7.15.39With standards raised, tabiras rolled aloud,The chiefs rode out to meet him in a crowd.
- C7.15.40His father too, with men of learning wise,Went out with Mobadan in shining guise.
- C7.15.41Then Goshtasb came to greet him with delight,And all the city spoke of that glad sight.
- C7.15.42When Esfandiyar beheld his father’s face,His heart grew joyful at that welcome grace.
- C7.15.43He spurred his night-black horse, whose fiery strideCould set the blaze of battle spreading wide.
- C7.15.44He came and clasped his father, holding tight; His father marveled at that wondrous sight.
- C7.15.45He blessed him: “May the earth and time remainForever graced by you and by your reign.”
