- C8.23.62He left his steed; within his lap he laidThe heads of those two chiefs, and mourned, dismayed.
- C8.23.63He cried, “Alas, my two young warriors slain!Your souls no more in these weak forms remain!”
- C8.23.64Then he told Bishutan, “Rise; weep no more;Let not such tears upon their bodies pour.
- C8.23.65I see no gain in all these tears and grief; We must not cling to life, for life is brief.
- C8.23.66Both young and old, we all must pass away;May wisdom guide us on our final day.”
