Roshanak Arrives under Her Parasol

From D5.4, Iskandar Sends His Mother to Fetch Roshanak. It illustrates D5.4.24–27:

  • D5.4.24
When Roshanak drew near to Mesr’s gate,They came to greet her, all, of high estate.
  • D5.4.25
They decked the town with ornaments of art;A smile on every lip hid grief of heart.
  • D5.4.26
They showered silver on her parasol,And sifted pure musk down before them all.
  • D5.4.27
When that bright Moon arrived within his sight,The Shah observed her beauty with delight.
