The father aged, young the warrior bold;His mouth for war stood open, none could hold.

Then Giv dismounted, took his father’s hand,And kissed it as the aged chief did stand.

Old Gudarz cried, “O Just One, lend Your aid;To You alone my prayer and grief are laid.
