Bijan Raises Espanoye

From B12.17, The Iranians Battle Tazhav. It illustrates B12.17.62–65:

  • B12.17.62
Then fair Espanoye stepped from the steed;Tazhav wept hard; relieved, it gathered speed.
  • B12.17.63
Yet onward still he fled, a hunted thing,While Bijan followed hard on eagle’s wing.
  • B12.17.64
When Bijan looked on Espanoye fair,Her feet were veiled beneath her musky hair,
  • B12.17.65
He raised her gently, helped her to her feet,And set her on the horse’s saddle-seat.
