Giv Lassoes Tazhav at Dusk

From B12.25, Giv Avenges Bahram. It illustrates B12.25.19–24:

  • B12.25.19
When over earth the evening darkness grew,Tazhav from outpost watch and war withdrew.
  • B12.25.20
Brave Giv beheld him, riding far from men,Then turned his rein and held his breath again.
  • B12.25.21
For Tazhav rode past where his legion massed,Away from chiefs and champions, far he passed.
  • B12.25.22
Giv cast his kamand in a looping cast,Around Tazhav’s waist the kamand held fast.
  • B12.25.23
He slipped the kamand under Tazhav’s thigh,Then wheeled his charger sharply with a cry.
  • B12.25.24
He dragged him crashing from the saddle, torn,And flung him through the dust with utter scorn.
