Kamus Unhorses Alva

From B13.31, Kamus Slays Alva. It illustrates B13.31.26–29:

  • B13.31.26
Alva advanced, intent upon the fray,And sought to meet Kamus in arms that day.
  • B13.31.27
An ample space was cleared, and toward his preyKamus came wolf-like, fierce in war’s array.
  • B13.31.28
One spear-stroke plucked him lightly from his seat,And flung him to the earth at Kamus’s feet.
  • B13.31.29
He checked his reins and trampled him, till redAs rubies turned the ground where Alva bled.
