From B14.12, Rostam Battles Sava. It illustrates B14.12.21–29:
- B14.12.21Then Sava, proud kinsman of Kamus, came,With high ambition none could curb or tame.
- B14.12.22An Indian sword was ready in his hand;He came to fight where Rostam took his stand.
- B14.12.23He circled to the left, then to the right,And sought revenge for Kamus in the fight.
- B14.12.24“O mighty elephant,” he cried, “now markA Nile-wave rising, terrible and dark.
- B14.12.25I shall avenge Kamus; this fight shall beThe last such battle you shall ever see.”
- B14.12.26When Sava’s words reached Rostam in the fray,He drew his heavy gorz without delay.
- B14.12.27He struck the warrior’s head with all his might; In agony, his spirit took its flight.
- B14.12.28He rode his Rakhsh across him on the ground;Of Sava, not a trace could then be found.
- B14.12.29The Kashani standard tumbled to the plain; The army’s heart was wrung with fear and pain.
