Rostam Plucks the King of Sham
From B6.6, Rostam Battles the Three Kings. It illustrates B6.6.24–28:
- B6.6.24He spurred brave Rakhsh; he shunned the common foe,And sought the kings where battle’s currents flow.
- B6.6.25He drove toward Sham’s king through battle’s tide,And cast his kamand toward the ruler’s side.
- B6.6.26It clasped his waist, a dragon’s tightening ring,And held him mounted, helpless to the string.
- B6.6.27He plucked him from the saddle in his fall,Like polo mallet striking up the ball.
- B6.6.28Then Bahram bound the fallen king that day,And sixty famed warriors were led away.
