Siavash Kisses the Ground before Kavus
From B9.4, Siavash Arrives from Zabulistan. It illustrates B9.4.9–14:
- B9.4.9When he beheld the Shah upon his throne,An ivory seat where ruby splendor shone,
- B9.4.10He bowed before him, reverent and profound,Then bent his face and kissed the royal ground.
- B9.4.11He then drew near; Kavus embraced the boy,And clasped his son with open-hearted joy.
- B9.4.12He welcomed Rostam with the honors due,And seated him where turquoise splendor grew.
- B9.4.13Kavus beheld the prince in wondering gaze,And blessed him long with words of royal praise.
- B9.4.14Then gazing on his stature, form, and height,He saw his royal farr blaze clear and bright.
