Night Attack on the Kurdish Camp

From D6.11, Ardeshir Attacks the Kurds by Night. It illustrates D6.11.2–6:

D6.11.2
When half the night had passed, across the groundHe neared the Kurds, with darkness all around.
D6.11.3
The plain was filled with men who lay asleep; His soldiers’ hearts were seething, poised to leap.
D6.11.4
Ardeshir reached the camp where Kurds lay still,And loosed his charger’s rein to speed at will.
D6.11.5
He drew his sword and charged across the plain,And crowned the grass with blood of warriors slain.
D6.11.6
The heads and hands of Kurds lay all around;Full sixty upon sixty strewed the ground.
