From E6.11, Bahram Chubin Claims the Throne. It illustrates E6.11.83–92:
- E6.11.83When lapis-colored darkness passed away,And all the world grew sun-gilt with the day,
- E6.11.84A Fortune-favored man prepared the hallWithin Bahram Chubin’s palace wall.
- E6.11.85He set the throne; they swept the great hall bare,Then hung the crown above the royal chair.
- E6.11.86Upon the golden throne they set the seat; Then opened court, its setting now complete.
- E6.11.87He took his place as Shah upon the throne; He wore the crown; his power was plainly shown.
- E6.11.88The scribe then brought the royal scroll to light,On precious silk inscribed, both fair and bright.
- E6.11.89Each chief then testified and signed his name:“Bahram is monarch, worthy of his fame.”
- E6.11.90He sealed it with his golden seal and said:“Let holy God bear witness overhead.
- E6.11.91This realm is mine; may kings of my descentHold crown and throne through ages heaven-sent.
- E6.11.92For one full thousand years may they remain,With son succeeding son throughout that reign.”
